The bookstore lit up with energy on Tuesday night, May 7th, when karate students performed a spectacular demonstration at Barnes & Noble in Boynton Beach, FL.
For the past three years St. Vincent Ferrer has offered students an afterschool program to learn karate and self-defense from the Boca Raton Karate & Kickboxing Academy. The age of students range from kindergarten to middle school and while separate classes are taught each week for each age group, they worked together beautifully for an amazing performance at the book fair being hosted by Barnes & Noble in Boynton Beach.
Both instructors from the Boca Raton Karate & Kickboxing Academy have worked closely with the St. Vincent Ferrer students all year. This performance was an important step for the students to show all they have learned. Beyond basic martial arts moves, these students have learned to focus and have gained in both respect and self-confidence. The older, middle school group performed their knowledge in self-defense techniques and executed each move with enthusiasm, control and confidence.
A great time was had by all, and instructors, parents and teachers alike were all very proud!
